Part 2: Triumph Street Triple 765 Family

 Part 2: Triumph Street Triple 765 Family (R, RS & Moto2 Edition)

 Overview

The Triumph Street Triple 765 is the crown jewel of the middleweight naked class. First launched in 2007 (based on the Daytona 675 sports bike), the Street Triple quickly became known for its nimble handling, three-cylinder character, and everyday usability.

In its current 765cc form, the bike has evolved into multiple trims:

  • Street Triple R – the “all-rounder,” sporty yet practical.
  • Street Triple RS – the flagship performance version, track-ready.
  • Street Triple Moto2 Edition – a limited, race-derived version directly connected to Triumph’s role as the exclusive engine supplier for Moto2 World Championship.

 Engine & Performance

All Street Triple 765 models use Triumph’s liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline three-cylinder engine, derived directly from Moto2 racing technology.

Key Engine Specs:

  • Displacement: 765 cc
  • Bore x Stroke: 78.0 mm × 53.4 mm
  • Compression Ratio: 12.54:1
  • Max Power (RS trim): ~118–120 hp @ 11,500 rpm
  • Max Torque: ~59 Nm @ 9,500 rpm
  • Top Speed: ~150 mph (240 km/h)
  • Transmission: 6-speed with Triumph Shift Assist (quick shifter) on RS & Moto2

The triple-cylinder character means linear power delivery, strong mid-range torque, and an exciting high-rpm scream, making it perfect for both street riding and track use.
